# Channels

Console has two types of channels: **Community** and **Private**.

### **Community channels (Public)**

Community channels are public. Everyone in your community can see your community channels.

### **Private channels**&#x20;

Private channels for discussions that aren't for everyone's eyes. To join a private channel you must either be invited by an admin, or meet one of the private channel's role requirements.
